Incidence of Pratylenchus coffeae causing severe infection on coffee in the Northeast of Brazil This paper reports Pratylenchus coffeae causing severe damage to coffee (Coffea arabica) in the State of Pernambuco, Northeastern Brazil. Plants were cultivated in an area previously used for yam (Dioscorea cayennensis) production, highly infested with a P. coffeae, the causal agent of dry rot in yams. Losses of 1.5-year old plants were higher than 70%.
