In this research, mixed methodology has when utilised for data collection through which a wide range of the has been collected. The process of survey among 199 citizens has been utilised for qualitative data analysis whereas interviews among 4 Traffic officers adapted for collecting qualitative data. Therefore, for primary research, a thorough analysis using graphs and charts have provided adequate scope of evaluation. For secondary data, qualitative thematic analysis has been taken into consideration for effective assessment of data regarding pedestrian characteristics in Madiwala in terms of traffic condition.
This research plays a significant role in developing an improved interstice and traffic management system to deal with mixed traffic conditions in Bengaluru. The research was undertaken on a real-time basis in order to acquire primary quantitative and qualitative data as well as to conduct a content analysis of key components. This enabled the researcher to evaluate various aspects of the issue such as lack of appropriate infrastructure, conditions leading to a rise in pedestrian flow and the present actions taken by responsible authorities in this region. In order to approach the research in an unbiased and objective manner, the philosophy of positivism was incorporated
The study projects the various aspects of development of pedestrian crossings such that the people of India would be able to facilitate a safety measure during a crossing of congested roads. The study also provides relevant measures that are to be adopted by the government of India to develop the mentioned proposal. Dealing with the various development mechanisms, it could be stated that applying time scheduled signal posts at every crossing would eventually enhance the traffic handling ability of the governing bodies as well as provide an estimation of the controlling of pedestrian publics while crossing the roads. The study also draws conclusions based on the evaluation of the methods and technologies along with the projection of the futuristic benefits of the application.
