The adhesion of the components of two-shot parts is of decisive importance. However, due to the complexity of the processes, it has not so far been possible to provide a quantitative prediction of the resulting adhesion. In a joint work, the Institut für Kunststoffverarbeitung (Institute of Plastics Processing) at RWTH Aachen University and the Chair of Polymer Technology at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg have developed a completely new approach for the prediction of adhesion in two-shot parts based on injection moulding simulation and FEM strength analysis.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
