The paper describes the main results of a field measurement campaign of the electromagnetic inte$erence produced by a 25 kV -50 Hz railway line on nearby telecommunication cables; the results of the measurements were compared with the results of calculations based on suitable circuit models for studying the inducing and induced systems. The results of the comparison were deemed satisfactory.

The paper presents the results of a survey based on the large amount of collected data and performed calculations, started since 1996, and aimed to evaluate the 50Hz electromagnetic interference impact from the Italian High Speed railway line on extended metallic structures like telecommunication cables and pipelines.
