I nsulin-dependent diabetes has been considered for long time as a scuba diving contraindication due to the hypoglycaemia problems potentially exposing the diver to danger. An analysis of Divers Alert Network (DAN) database from 1993 to 2007 has shown that a small percentage of DAN members were diabetic.
