Patients with functioning renal transplant who develop abdominal aortic aneurysm can safely be treated with endovascular repair. Endovascular repair of aneurysm avoids renal ischemia associated with cross-clamping of aorta.

Disseminated intravascular coagulation occurs in about 2 % of patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm. Herein, the authors describe a patient who developed disseminated intravascular coagulation as a result of a stable abdominal aortic aneurysm. The coagulation disorder resolved completely within a week after aneurysmectomy.'"
