In the emission spectrum of the CO molecule four bands: 1-2, 1-7, 1-8, 0-6 which have not been observed so far and the 1-5 band belonging to the Ångstrom system (B 1Sigma+ - A 1Pi) have been found and photographed by conventional spectroscopy. The rotational analysis of bands made it possible to extend and to improve the information for both combining states. Especially the spectroscopic and quantum-mechanical constants of the B 1Sigma+ Rydberg state around its v=0 and 1 levels were more precise and more extended. A new quantitative classification of the relative band intensities for the currently extended Angstrom system bands has also been proposed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
