Two field experiments, were conducted at Agricultural Research Farm, Agronomy Department, Faculty of Agriculture, AL-Azhar Univ. Madenit Nasser during 2013 and 2015 summer seasons to study the influence of irrigation regimes (40% ,60% and 80% depletion of field capacity) ,sowing dates(20 th of April , 20 th of May and 20 th of June) as well as nitrogen fertilizer rates (80,100and 120 kg N/fad.) on the yield and yield components of pearl millet, (Shandaweil 1 var.). The results revealed that, irrigation at 40% depletion of field capacity awarded the highest significant means for plant height, fresh and dry weight/plant and fresh and dry forage yield / fad. in both growing seasons. In both growing seasons, the first sowing date (20 th April) was the most significant one due to the previous parameters. The highest means of the above mentioned characters were obtained by 120 kg N/fad.. As for interactions. irrigation at 40 % depletion of field capacity during the first sowing date (20 th April) awarded the heaviest plants , while the two sowing dates (20 th April and 20 th May) Also , the application of 120 kg N/fad. gave the best results for the most characters under study.
This investigation was carried out aiming to study the effect of irrigation intervals (every 7 , 11 and 15 days) and Biofertilization (nitrobien and phosphorein each at 0 , 3 and 6 g /pot) on growth, yield, oil production and chemical composition of rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis, L.), during two successive seasons of 2004 and 2005. The results showed that irrigation every 7 days gave the tallest plant, the highest oil percentage and oil yield/ plant in the first cut of both two seasons, the highest number of branches/ plant, fresh and dry weights/plant, total carbohydrates , N, P and K percentage in the first and second cut of both seasons and gave the highest linalool and P-cymene percentages in the essential oil. Whereas irrigation every 11 days gave the tallest plant, the highest oil percentage and oil yield/ plant in the second cut of both seasons and the highest α-pinene, β-pinene, limonene, 1,8 cineol and camphor percentages compared to irrigation every 15 days which gave the lowest values. Nitrobien and phosphorein at 3 and 6 gm/ pot significantly increased plant height, number of branches/ plant, fresh and dry weights/ plant and oil yield/ plant, and increased the main constituents of the essential oil (γ-Terpenene, 1,8 cineol, linalool , camphor, P-cymene, bornyl acetate and β caryophyllene percentages), total carbohydrates, N, P and K contents in the first and second cut of both two seasons compared to unfertilized control. Interaction between irrigation intervals and bio-fertilization had a significant effect on vegetative growth characteristics and oil percentage and oil yield. Irrigation every 7 days and phosphorein at 6 g /pot gave the highest values of plant height (in the first cut), number of branches /plant (second cut), fresh and dry weights /plant (in the first cut, oil yield /plant (in the first cut), total carbohydrates, N and P contents in the first and second cut of both seasons. Whereas irrigation every 11 days and phosphorein application at 6 g /pot gave the highest dry weight/ plant, oil percentage and oil yield/ plant in the second cut of both two seasons. irrigation every 11 days and nitrobien application at 3 g /pot gave the highest β-pinene, 1,8 cineol, camphor and bornyl acetate percentages in the essential oil. Whereas irrigation every 11 646 EL-LEITHY ET AL days and phosphorein at 3 gm/pot gave the highest linalool and P-cymene percentages in the essential oil.
to investigate the influence of mineral nitrogen fertilizer and biological ones i.e. Cerialen and Biogen under foliar spraying with Cysteine on the productivity of three wheat varieties (Sakha-93. Masry-1 and Banisweif). The studied treatments were recommended dose of N (75 kg N/fed., F1), recommended dose of N. fertilizer + Cysteine at the rate of 150 ppm (F2) 50% recommended dose of N fertilizer + Cerialine + Cysteine (F3) and 50% recommended dose of N fertilizer + biogen + Cysteine (F4). Complete randomized design was applied for the pot experiments, whereas split plot design was conducted for the experimental field. The results revealed that the difference between the investigated varieties due to plant height (cm) and flag leaf area (cm 2) was substantial. Sakha-93 var. pronounced its superiority due to the both studied growth characters during the pot and field experiment. F2 treatment located the first order and gave the tallest wheat plants, whereas F4 treatment awarded the largest area of flag leaf, during the three experimental seasons. Yield and yield components parameters (No of grains/spike, 1000-grain weight (g), grain yield (g/plant in pots and ardab/fed. in field), straw yield (g/plant and ton/fed. in field) and biological yield (g/plant in pots and ton/fed. in field) differed significantly between varieties. the maximum value were obtained from Sakha-93 and Masry-1, while the minimum ones associated with Baniswif variety, through the three experimental seasons. With the exception of straw yield either pot experiments or the field one, F2 and F4 treatments resulted in the heighest data for the previous yield and yield components parameters. The effect for the first order interaction (Var. x Fert.) on the studied characters differed with the characters difference (significant or nonsignificant) as shown from the obtained results during the three experimental seasons.
