The phase equilibria in the Al-V-Cr ternary system at 1000 and 1200 °C have been studied by using electron probe microanalysis and x-ray diffraction. No ternary compound exists in both isothermal sections. The addition of Cr replaces V in the line compound Al 3 V. The solubility of Cr in the Al 3 V phase decreases with the temperature increasing from 1000 to 1200 °C. The Al 8 (V, Cr) 5 phase forms a large continuous solid solution from the Al-V side to the Al-Cr side at 1200 °C.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
