The article concernsthe lithological study of the Lower Nutov (Oligocen-Pliocen) rocks penetrated by the Neptune’s field (North Sakhalin petroleum Province) discoverywell. According to litho- and ichnofacies core samples analyses of the well Ayashsk-1, the depositional environment system of considered sequences was specified. The sedimentary scheme subscribes a partial facies description of a wave-dominated coast: from the transitional zone to the mid and lower shoreface. Most likely it is confined to the peripheral area of the Paleo-Amur Delta. The article emphasizes the analysis of the volcanic eruption impact on the formation of sedimentary strata, as well as to pyroclastic material distribution features.
