Distance Learning is a method which is in theory applicable to all grades of education. However, there is only scarce information about its application to infants. This project aims to investigate the potentialities which Distance Learning offers for the education of infants through an example of supplementary Museum Distance Learning assisted by new technologies. For the need of the project there has been conducted operations research in supplementary Distance Learning in Museum Education which involved seventeen infants from a class of a day-long nursery school. The method of structured interview questions was used for the collection of information. The observation of infants also offered weighty information throughout the intervention. The results of the project are considered to be positive according to what the statistic analysis of the data shows and also the interest and the eager participation of the infants in the activities that were organized in the context of the educational intervention. The application of Distance Learning Museum Education contributed to the children's acquisition of knowledge and not just the retaining of impressions and enthusiasm. Consequently the first information about supplementary Distance Learning Museum Education in infants is valued as positive. This fact supports the opinion that Distance Learning can be applied successfully even to this early age. Safer scientific conclusions about its application will definitely result from the repetition of this or similar research in a wider cross section of infants. However, this project opens new perspectives for Distance Learning for infants and at the same time offers motives to do research in other parameters such as educational material and the role of infant school teachers in the method of Distance Learning in infants.
