The article presents the results of machining materials in hardened state. In the paper, different trochoidal tool paths are compared with each other and with the conventional milling. The results of measurements show the relationship between tool path, roughness and waviness of grooves wall. The paper also presents pictures of grooves which were made. These results provide comparative material useful in the choice of the best milling strategy to the cutting process.
The paper presents a unique method of automatic programming of CNC machines using special machining templates built into the CAM program. The method, referred to by the author as Automatic CAM Programming Using Machining Templates (i.e. the acronym ACPUT), is used in the preparation of the machining process of parts characterized by geometric and technological similarity, and is aimed at automating the work carried out in the CAM program. In addition, the results of experimental studies were presented, confirming the possibility of using the new method in practice
Choosing right Rapid Prototyping technology is not easy, especially for companies inexperienced with that group of manufacturing techniques. Paper summarizes research focused on creating an algorithm for expert system, helping to choose optimal process and determine its parameters for thin-walled products rapid manufacturing. Research was based upon trial manufacturing of different thin-walled items using various RP technologies. Products were categorized, each category was defined by a set of requirements. Basing on research outcome, main algorithm has been created. Next step was developing detailed algorithms for optimizing particular methods. Implementation of these algorithms brings huge benefit for recipients, including cost reduction, supply time decrease and improvements in information flow.
The main purpose of the work is to present the method of preparing special production templates in the CAM program assuming the automation of CNC machine programming. The template is developed according to the unique ACPUT method - automatic CAM programming using machining templates, consisting of a combination of knowledge engineering and special CAM program tools to minimize the time during the design of the technological process. In developing the templates, the ontology of the technological process in the field of milling machining used in the selected enterprise was used. The effectiveness of the automatic programming process of CNC machines using production templates has been described, on the example of the process of manufacturing matrix tooling used in the welding process.
