Data Badan Pusat Statistik menunjukkan bahwa pada tahun 2019-2021 persentase penduduk yang mengobati sendiri selama sebulan terakhir di Jawa Barat tergolong tinggi, persentasenya mengalami peningkatan dari 73,32% di tahun 2019 menjadi 88,28% di tahun 2021, bahkan lebih tinggi dibandingkan DKI Jakarta yang persentasenya 85,69%. Survei pendahuluan pada warga RT 005/ RW 013 Desa Pasir Angin, Cileungsi, Jawa Barat menunjukkan bahwa 86% warga melakukan swamedikasi terutama untuk mengatasi gangguan saluran nafas. 65,1% dari warga yang melakukan swamedikasi menyimpan obat sisa hingga tanggal kadaluarsa. Tingginya persentase perilaku menyimpan obat sisa menimbulkan risiko penggunaan obat yang salah atau penyalahgunaan, atau risiko kadaluarsa. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman warga mengenai swamedikasi yang tepat belum memadai. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pemahaman warga mengenai swamedikasi dan melatih warga dalam melakukan swamedikasi dengan tepat terkait obat-obatan gangguan saluran nafas serta agar warga mengetahui kandungan obat dengan efek farmakologi tertentu yang diukur dengan kuesioner. Metode yang digunakan pada pengabdian ini adalah pelatihan dan penyuluhan menggunakan model CBIA. Sebanyak 27 peserta diberikan edukasi terlebih dahulu mengenai penyakit dan terapi pada penyakit gangguan saluran nafas, kemudian dilakukan pelatihan dengan metode interaktif melalui pengisian lembar kerja. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan dan pengisian lembar kerja. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data, terdapat peningkatan signifikan nilai rata-rata pengetahuan peserta mengenai swamedikasi sebesar 26,30% (p=0,01). Peserta juga mampu mengidentifikasi informasi-informasi penting yang terdapat dalam kemasan obat. Edukasi tentang swamedikasi dapat meningkatkan wawasan peserta. Pelatihan swamedikasi mampu meningkatkan kemampuan peserta dalam memutuskan penggunaan obat dalam swamedikasi.
Indonesian children still have limited access to books, and reading activities have not become a culture in Indonesia. This problem worsens with the Covid-19 pandemic because many schools were closed or changing the method to learning from home. In addition to reading, health literacy is also crucial during this pandemic. This service activity aims to increase interest in reading through training and establishing the children's reading park. The method used was training and diffusion of science and technology. The training was conducted online through video conferencing applications and live streaming via popular video sites. Evaluation of activities was carried out using a pre-test and post-test. More than 80 participants joined the training activities. From the questionnaire results, there was an increase in the average score of the participants after receiving the training. The children's reading park has been formed and is ready to be opened to the public. The procurement of books was carried out through grants from donors, and more than 300 reading books were collected.
This community service activity was carried out in the society-based library blok E, Pasir Angin village, Cileungsi, Jawa Barat. This activity aimed to increase the knowledge and skills of society-based library administrators in managing their society-based library. Furthermore, a coloring competition for kids and counseling on healthy and safe snacks was also held which aimed to increase public knowledge and at the same time encourage public interest in visiting this society-based library. The training activities were carried out using the discussion method and practice on how to classify books, make catalog cards, book call numbers, and the membership lists of society-based libraries. Counseling activity was carried out using lecture and discussion methods. Evaluation of the training activity was carried out using the interview method, while the counseling activity was evaluated using a questionnaire instrument. The result be achieved from this activity is that the administrators can manage the society-based library well so that they are able to foster public interest in visiting and at the same time stimulate public interest in reading.
