Zusammenfassung
Der Beitrag identifiziert, vergleicht und analysiert zwei narrative Strategien, die im Zusammenhang mit demenziellen Symptomen in fiktionalen Werken und in alltäglichen, nicht-fiktionalen schriftlichen Quellen gleichermaßen vorkommen. Dabei handelt es sich zum einen um das Phänomen einer Neubetrachtung und illusionären Komplettierung von Biographien, zum anderen um ein von nahestehenden Menschen erzähltes Aufblühen der von Demenz betroffenen Personen. In Anlehnung an ein narrativ geprägtes Verständnis von Biographie wird in diesem Beitrag ein weiter gedanklicher Rahmen eröffnet, der die Bedeutung des Erzählens – auch im ästhetischen Sinn – für den Umgang mit Demenz umspannt.
