PurposeThis study aims to analyze the impact of ethical leadership on organizational citizenship behavior and turnover intention of employees working in the financial sector, considering procedural justice as a mediator.Design/methodology/approachData was collected from 306 employees working in the financial sector (banking, insurance and mutual fund) in India. The data was collected in two phases to avoid common method bias by using standardized close-ended questionnaires. Data for this study was assessed using Smart Partial Least Square (PLS) 3.FindingsThe results show that ethical leadership is significantly associated with procedural justice, organizational citizenship behavior and turnover intention. Further procedural justice acts as a mediator between ethical leadership and organizational citizenship behavior; also between ethical leadership and turnover intention.Originality/valueThe research contribute in understanding the role of procedural justice as a mediator between ethical leadership and organizational citizenship behavior and turnover intention for the employees working in the financial sector in India.
Supply Chain Management Information System (SCMIS) has gained a lot of importance because of its ability to reduce costs and increase responsiveness in the supply chain. The implementation of SCMIS is a complicated process with significant risk. The studies have revealed that the success in implementing these systems is not very encouraging. Therefore, it is necessary to establish the impediments in SCMIS implementation and their severity. Studies on the failure factors of the ERP system have already been done by various researchers. The research on SCMIS, an inter-organizational system, is in its early stages and is still to receive that much attention as its predecessor whereas barriers for its implementation are more severe. Thus, there exists a gap in research in this important area. In this paper an attempt has been made to establish impediments, their severity and improvisation for the successful implementation of SCMIS in the Indian automobile industry.

With such high failure rates scenario, it becomes imperative to identify the risk and the failure factors that may arise during implementation and the ways to tackle these risks. In this chapter, an attempt has been made to establish the challenges, their severity, and improvisation for the successful implementation of SCMIS in the Indian automobile industry. The findings can help the practitioners and managers better understand the challenges, focus the resources, their attention, set up the priorities, and thus improve the chances of successful implementation of SCMIS.

The implementation of SCMIS is a complicated process with significant risk since disparate systems spanning across companies are being integrated. A review of literature has revealed that the success in implementing SCMIS is not very encouraging. Against this backdrop, this paper identified 18 critical success factors and proposes a model for successful implementation of the system that can give the organization an edge over their competitors. The proposed model confirms that following factors play a significant role during implementation of SCMIS—top management support, user involvement, pre-implementation analysis, user training, change management, data accuracy and communication. The process model and critical success factors will provide a useful guide for industry practitioners who are planning to implement SCMIS in their organization. The study can help them gain an understanding of the complexities intrinsic in implementing these systems, improve decision-making for successful implementation of the system right from inception and subsequent realization of the enormous benefits, such as, reduction of inventories, minimization of bullwhip effect and cost reduction, that will accrue with right implementation.
PurposeWomen are the change agents in today's society. They are not only the harbingers of growth and development but also act as a major catalyst in the economic advancement and prosperity of the nation. India has been witnessing an expansion in women entrepreneurs given the conducive startup ecosystem we have created over the years. It has inspired women to break the shackles and switch to being a game changer for themselves and many others over the years. The study aims to explore the impact of social entrepreneurial leadership on women empowerment and how does benchmarking help in this process.Design/methodology/approachUsing a semi-structured questionnaire, the study conducted one-to-one in-depth and focused group interviews with the five women social entrepreneurs and their team. NVivo was used for content and thematic analysis.FindingsMajor themes identified from the study include financial independence, women empowerment, social identity, autonomy, mobility, attaining self-confidence, creativity and innovation, fulfillment of motives, action and social learning, and setting standards (benchmarks). The findings revealed that social entrepreneurial leadership has a significant impact on women empowerment through benchmarking.Originality/valueSocial entrepreneurial leadership has the potential to revolutionize the very concept of women empowerment. The research tries to study specific cases of social entrepreneurial leadership and how they have been instrumental in shaping up the life of others through their efforts and determination.
