ABSTRACT-Fuzzy logic is a rule based system which is implemented using if then rules. For example two parameters say x & y are varied in order to know which parameter effects the fuel efficiency. This paper explores in particular the use of fuzzy logic in the Efficient estimation of fuel consumption. We present an intelligent Engine Control Unit (ECU) that controls a series of actuators on an internal combustion engine to ensure optimal engine performance. Here, PCA is used to reduce the data collected using reduction algorithm where Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is the best, in the mean-square error sense, linear dimension reduction technique. It is a statistical procedure that uses orthogonal transformation to convert a set of observations of possibly correlated variables into a set of values of linearly uncorrelated variables called principal components. Hence, The fuel efficiency of the vehicle and the efficiency of the driver can be calculated using the sensor data available in the vehicle.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
