Rotary tillers with flat tines are widely used in agriculture. In this study, the power requirement of an active tillage tool was investigated using a theoretical procedure. The goal of this work was to determine and analyze the soil resistance forces on the tine of rotary tiller. The laws and rules of theoretical mechanics were applied in the research. Theoretical studies obtained analytical relationships for determining the soil resistance forces acting on the chamfers and side surfaces of the tines of the rotary tiller, as well as the torques associated with these forces. The analysis of the obtained analytical expressions showed that the forces of the tiller tine is mainly influenced by the mode of operation of the tiller, the design parameters of the tine and the physical and mechanical properties of the soil. With an increase in the index of the kinematic mode of operation, λ, which is the ratio of the peripheral speed of the tine to the forward speed of the tiller, the resistance force of the flat tine decreases, and then takes a negative value. At λ > 2, the resistance force of the tine is directed towards direction of movement. In this case, a driving force is formed, the maximum value of which is reached at λ =2-2.2
Since the change in leadership, Uzbekistan is gradually transforming from an inward-looking, commandoriented economy to an outward-looking, market-oriented economy. This paper briefly presents the agricultural development and machinery usage situation in Uzbekistan. The development of agriculture has been identified as a critical component of the economic reform. The historical focus of the sector on the production of cotton and wheat has continued to dominate production. With the introduction of critical liberalization measures for the production of cotton and wheat in the beginning of 2020, the transition to higher value horticulture crops production has accelerated. Many farms are around 50 ha, and the associated farmers lack sufficient technical knowledge, farm business management capacities, business planning and/or marketing knowledge which significantly constrains their ability to attract or effectively use investment capital to develop their businesses. Moreover, very limited private advisory capacities and/or consultancies exist in rural areas. There is also growing evidence of larger private farms and agri-business companies establishing and developing their own advisory capacities to support the development of more integrated supply chains. In addition, cluster models are being promoted by the government.Modern agriculture requires a wide range of technology, knowledge and skills used by farmers and agri-businesses, from operating modern machinery and equipment in open fields and in greenhouses, to maintain minimum safety, hygiene and quality standards in all stages of production, harvesting, post-harvesting, processing and marketing. The paper discusses challenges faced in the machinery sector, technology infrastructure including technical training, machinery dealer support, repair and maintenance, and suggestions to the future.

In accordance with the agricultural row-crops cultivation practices adopted in the Central Asian region, machine-tractor units carry out a large number of passes through the field during the growing season. Consequently, individual sections of the fields are repeatedly affected by the running systems of these machines, which negatively affects soil fertility. The universal row-crop tractors used in cotton production have two types of wheel arrangements: 3W2 and 4W2. Consequently, these arrangements have different natures and magnitude of impact on the soil. Despite a number of advantages of 4-wheeled tractors due to insufficient agrotechnical clearance under the front and rear axles beam, they are not used for inter-row cotton cultivation. Mechanisms including a stepless change in ground clearance, both for the front and rear axles of a 4-wheeled tractor, eliminate these disadvantages and thereby expand the possibilities of their use. The use of a 4-wheeled tractor in field and transport operations has shown that the most loaded parts in the developed mechanism for changing the clearance of the rear axle are rolling supports of the cage on the casing of the rear axle of the tractor.
