Microplastics are attracting more and more attention as a new type of pollutant in the ecological environment. Microplastics are difficult to degrade because of their unique physical and chemical properties. Some microplastics adsorbed toxic chemicals (e.g. heavy metals or organic pollutants) will cause a series of toxicological effects in organisms. This paper summarized the research progress in microplastics from the aspects of the types, distribution, detection and the toxicological effects. In addition, future research directions were also proposed and discussed.
In the course of the ship’s navigation, a strong magnetic surface mount method is used to realize real-time observation of the temperature and salt elements of the sea surface. In order to ensure the stability of the magnetic module (the shield) during navigation, the force condition was analyzed with ANSYS Fluent, and a design calculation method was proposed. Firstly, numerical simulation analysis is carried out on the force of the shield. Secondly, the magnetic force of permanent magnets with different sizes is calculated. Through the analysis of the overall force, the size and total number of magnets required on the shield are finally determined.
We reviewed the current key techniques of portable mass spectrometer and discussed its application in environmental monitoring. At present, mass spectrometer has two development directions. One direction is high-throughputs, high-sensitivity and high-resolution laboratory mass spectrometer. The other is small, in-situ monitoring portable mass spectrometer. With the rapid development of electronic technology and new materials, portable mass spectrometers are widely used in environmental pollution monitoring because they have the advantages of small size, light weight and low power consumption.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
