In the study, the authors focused on determination of reliability indicators of the transport systems, which currently constitute the Polish Armed Forces’ equipment. The methods of research of car fleets composed of distinct types of vehicles are presented. The algorithms of reliability indicators’ determination addressed in the study can serve to analyze other set of transportation means used in rescue, seasonal transport and specialized transportation assignments, as well as to determine the security level of any mission conducted. The appearance of information technology allowed transferring the paper-based registration system of operational occurrences into an integrated information system. It enables to follow the history of transportation fleets including single pieces of the equipment. The knowledge of reliability of particular types of the vehicles allows for proper planning of missions within the framework of possessed transport assets capacity. The study presents the method of achieving the intended objective to increase the effectiveness of management of motor vehicles fleet used intermittently. The algorithm for the selection of a vehicle or a group of vehicles for execution of tasks, developed on the basis of analytical procedures, envisages the assignment of mobile assets, complication and complexity of their structures, the level of modernity, operational history and branch regulations. Determined reliability indicators for particular groups of vehicles can be implemented into the Multilevel Information System
The article also tackles topics related to dynamic testing of vehicles equipped with massive wheel inserts. The subject matter was taken due to the modernization of the Polish Armed Forces. The majority of vehicles obtained for the army are equipped with wheels with massive inserts. With the introduction of this solution to the army, there was a need to check the correctness of the operation of wheels with massive inserts. The Military Vehicles Research Laboratory of the Institute of Armoured and Automotive Technology developed a research method, which the authors presented in the following article. Dynamic testing is carried out in a practical way by unsealing the tire. The results of dynamic tests carried out on a selected military special vehicle equipped with wheels with massive inserts, which allow the vehicle to move after the tire is unsealed, were also presented. This condition can be caused by various situations, such as: passing the vehicle through the spike strip or the shooting through the tire. Special vehicles, both military and police, are highly vulnerable to the above events and must be able to evacuate from the place of danger even in the case of an unsealed tire.
In the present paper, the authors have analyzed the technical requirements for military vehicles acquired by way of purchase or research and development works on road, air and rail transportability. The issue of defining technical requirements has been ad-dressed, since they are crucial elements of qualification tests. Transportability require-ments verify a vehicle’s suitability for various types of transport, its adaptation to load-ing and the strength of its brackets. The authors have reviewed the normative docu-ments on the transportability of military vehicles, based on which the analysis was car-ried out in the context of current technical requirements. The article also deals with is-sues related to vehicle’s transportability examinations. This type of testing is carried out at the Armored Combat Vehicle Laboratory at the Military Institute of Armored and Au-tomotive Technology in Sulejówek. The authors have also discussed the possibilities of the application of reverse engineering in transportability examinations.
Authors at work focused on the possibilities of using reverse engineering to study transport susceptibility of vehicles for air transport. The use of a 3D scanner gives the possibility of mapping in the form of a point cloud of the actual vehicle with all the defects and shortcomings that arose on the production line. Only 5 Hercules C-130 transport aircraft are used in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland. For this simple reason, access to these aircraft is limited. The aircraft's reloaded in 3D technology gives the possibility of a virtual fitting of the tested vehicle to the plane.
