Over the years, the literature on management has advanced in the understanding of the relationship between technology transfer, absorptive capacity and organisational performance. Nevertheless, to date, the number of studies investigating these relationships in a joint manner, showing how the result varies in different contexts, is still rare. This systematic literature review analyses the existing academic literature on the relationship between technology transfer, absorptive capacity and organisational performance by carrying out a bibliometric and qualitative analysis of the literature. The bibliometric analysis provided an overview of the literature, identifying the most prominent and influent journals, countries, institutions, authors and research methods, as well as intersections between the constructs and the temporal evolution of the publications. The qualitative analysis was employed in order to understand, systematise and assess the previous findings on the subjects. The results showed that absorptive capacity is an important factor for effective technology transfer, when taking into account international technology transfer, university-industry collaboration and inter-organisational transfer. The literature converges in indicating that both technology transfer and absorptive capacity have a positive impact on organisational performance, although some existing exceptions need to be considered. Finally, the study provides an agenda for future research based on contextual, methodological and theoretical gaps identified.

This study aimed to analyze the production and technological collaboration of biotechnology in Brazil through the patent documents granted by the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI). Data analysis took place using the indicators of measures of technological activity and Social Network Analysis (SNA). The general panorama of biotechnological production, between 1982 and 2016, showed that the majority of patents (90%) are owned by non-residents, with emphasis on private companies. The main holder of biotechnologies in the country is the United States with 35.4% of the documents granted. SNA pointed to a weak technological collaboration between patent holders in biotechnology. The study showed that the public and private sectors have been responding to the demands presented by the Biotechnology Development Policy, but it is still necessary to strengthen the policies and actions already defined to improve the Brazilian bio industry. Among the indispensable actions is the dissemination of the culture of intellectual property about the protection of biotechnology for public institutions and the business sector.
The passion fruit peel flour, retrieved from the drying and milling of fruit-processing residues, is rich in fibers. On fact, it is an important food source, featuring many benefits for the human organism. Current study forwards a scientific and technological evaluation of the passion fruit peel flour development through bibliometric indicators. Data from scientific production were collected from Web of Science database and patent search was performed at different databases USPTD, WOPD, EPD and ONPO. Bibliometric analysis addresses key sections focused on articles and patent applications, authors and inventors, relevant areas of interest, institutions and countries. The analysis of citations and analysis of social networks were also used as complementary indicators. The scientific and technological production of the passion fruit peel flour has occurred mostly in Brazil, particularly at universities. Since production is still fledging, greater investments are required to improve Science, Technology & Onnovation (ST&O) indicators in the field.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
