The n-butyl cyanoacrilate in partial lung lobectomy in cats. Experimental study RESUMO O presente estudo teve como objetivo verificar a viabilidade do n-butil cianoacrilato na pneumostasia ABSTRACT The n-butyl cyanoacrilate tissue adhesive was used in this study aiming to verify the viability of its use for hemostasis and to avoid air leakage in partial l u n g l o b e c t o m y. S i x h e a l t h y a d u l t f e m a l e d o m e s t i c shorthair cats, weight range of three kg were submitted t o a n i n t e r c o s t a l t h o r a c o t o m y w i t h p a r t i a l l u n g lobectomy using n-butyl cyanoacrilate to close the lobe. A f t e r 2 1 d a y s t h e y w e r e s u b m i t t e d t o a n o t h e r thoracotomy to collect a fragment of the lung where the adhesive was applied to a histopathological study. C h e s t f i l m s w e r e t a k e n p r e a n d p o s t p a r t i a l l u n g l o b e c t o m y a n d a t t w o , s e v e n , 1 4 a n d 2 1 d a y s a s a f o l l o w u p p r o c e d u r e . R a d i o g r a p h i c a l a n d c l i n i c a l changes such as residual pneumothorax, increase in p u l m o n a r y d e n s i t y, s u b c u t a n e o u s e m p h y s e m a a n d apathy were corrected in due time, not compromising t h e s t u d y.
