This article represents the calculation of long-term average annual soil loss using the universal soil loss equation (USLE) in the Myjava river catchment. The loss of soil will be assessment in light of the size of land (in the categories: 30, 10 -20, 5 -10 ha) and slope area (in the categories: less than 3°, 3° -7°, 7° -12° and above such as 12°). There is a Slovakian technical standard: recommended dimensions and size land on the arable land with anti-erosion protection soil. The model area of the catchment is located in the western part of Slovakia, with an area of 729 km2 (the extent of arable land prevails in the study area -41 %, forests -35 %, grassland -8 %). Based on this standard, the size of arable land should be designed to meet these criteria. Model catchment will be evaluated on the basis of these criteria according to the Slovak Technical Standard. The current situation will be described.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
