RESUMOAs matas ciliares são fundamentais na proteção de mananciais hídricos. O estudo objetivou conhecer a estrutura da comunidade arbórea de uma faixa de mata ciliar do Rio Taquari, no município de Colinas, Rio Grande do Sul. A amostragem foi realizada através da distribuição de 18 unidades amostrais (UA's) de 100 m 2 , a cada 20 metros, formando um transecto paralelo ao rio. Nas UA's foram amostrados os indivíduos com circunferência do caule à altura do peito igual ou superior a 20 cm. Foram definidos os parâmetros de densidade, frequência e dominância, absolutas e relativas, e o índice de valor de importância (IVI). A diversidade foi estimada pelos índices de Shannon (H') e equabilidade de Pielou (J). Foram amostrados 415 indivíduos, 39 espécies e 21 famílias botânicas, sendo Fabaceae a família de maior riqueza. A densidade de indivíduos por hectare foi estimada foi 2.306 ind.ha -1 . Machaerium paraguariense Hassl. apresentou os maiores valores de densidade (367 ind.ha -1 ) e também de IVI (16,0). A diversidade florística estimada pelos índices de H' e J resultou em 3,09 nats.ind. -1 e 0,84, respectivamente. Apesar de ser constituído por uma estreita faixa de mata, o fragmento estudado encontra-se em bom estado de conservação, pois apresenta altos índices de diversidade e o registro de apenas duas espécies exóticas, ambas com baixo IVI.Palavras chaves: Bacia Hidrográfica do Rio Taquari-Antas. The aim of this study was to know the physical, chemical and nutritional characteristics of Rubus sellowii (Rosaceae) fruits, known as blackberry, native plant mainly to Rio Grande do Sul State (RS), Brazil. For this, three different populations of this plant were selected and the fruits were analyzed through moisture, ash, titratable acidity, pH, lipids, fibers, carbohydrates, proteins, carotenoids, lycopene, ascorbic acid, aminogram and in vitro digestibility. Fruits showed high acidity (3.28 percent), ash and protein (1.02 and 0.93 percent) and higher ascorbic acid (38.43 mg per 100 g) if compared to Rubus cultivars. Due to Rubus sellowii nutritional properties, they provide benefits to human health.
Phytosociological study of a riverine forest remnant from Taquari river, State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil). Aiming to characterize the structure of the arboreal community in a riverine forest remnant of the Taquari river, State of Rio Grande do Sul, 42 sampling units of 100 m 2 (10 × 10 m) were located. Phytosociological parameters were also assessed and the indexes of Shannon diversity (H') and Pielou evenness (J) were evaluated. A total of 39 species, 21 families, 2.83 nats ind -1 for H' and 0.77 for J were recorded. Among the species found, the endemic Callisthene inundata O.L. Bueno, A.D. Nilson & R.G. Magalh. and Picrasma crenata (Vell.) Engl. are included in the list of endangered species. The density found was of 1,557.14 ind ha -1 . Luehea divaricata Mart. and Lonchocarpus nitidus Benth. showed the highest indexes of importance values. Besides contributing to the knowledge of species distribution and community structure, this study points out the need for conservation of existing native forest remnants.
