This study aims to: (1) Know the differences in student learning outcomes between the Blended Learning model and ordinary learning both overall and based on the level of early math ability (high, medium and low), (2) Knowing the increase in student self-reliance taught by using Blended Learning models and students are taught with ordinary learning both overall and by the level of early math ability (high, medium and low). in this research use method that is quasi-experiment with pretest-postest control group design design. The population in this research consists of all 5th-semester students of Mathematics Education Study Program Universitas PGRI Palembang Academic Year 2016/2017. The sample in this research is class 5B (control class) and 5C (experiment class). Data collection with self-study test and questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using t-test statistic and t'-test. The result of the research shows that (1) the improvement of students' learning outcomes taught by using Blended Learning model is higher than students who are taught with ordinary learning both overall and based on the level of early math ability (high, medium and low), (2) improvement of learning independence students who were taught using the Blended Learning model were higher than students who were taught with ordinary learning in terms of overall, high and moderate levels of math skills, but not higher at lower levels.
This study focused on investigating the effect of jigsaw cooperative learning instruction on the second-year undergraduates' achievement of Teaching Learning Strategy.Undergraduates' opinions about jigsaw cooperative learning instruction were also investigated. The participants of this study were 52 second-year undergraduates in Islamic education department in Islamic University of Jakarta, Indonesia. A pre-test was applied to both experimental (N=28) and control groups (N=24) before the treatment in order to identify undergraduates 'prior knowledge about " Teaching Learning Strategy" and to determine if there was a significant change in Teaching Learning Strategy from pre-test to post-test for second-year undergraduates. Independent t-test was conducted to compare the prior knowledge test scores for groups and no significant difference was found in terms of mean scores. After the instruction, post-test was administrated to investigate undergraduates' achievement. The results showed that students in the experimental group, who perceived their instruction as more cooperative and more student-centered, had significantly greater improvement on achievement measures than did the students in the control group. In addition, individual interviews reflected that undergraduates had positive opinion about jigsaw, and they believed jigsaw is an effective cooperative learning technique that promotes positive attitudes and interest develop inter-personal skills. The major findings of this study support the effectiveness of jigsaw learning for students in Indonesia higher education institutions.
Women become weak and hopeless when suffering as a victim of Intimate Partner Violence. They experience multiple adversities and conduct searches and struggles to be able to survive and escape from these adversities. Previous research has focused more on efforts to find things that involve domestic violence; however, this research focuses more on finding solutions for women as victims of Intimate Partner Violence. Research has been conducted with qualitative methods that aim to explore the dynamic of resilience on a woman who survives from Intimate Partner Violence. Research’s questions are being compiled based on the understandings about the personal construct and the process of resilience that involved the violence she suffered, thinking style, seven factors of abilities on resiliency, social support, and how the participant’s current life is decided as the main theme of the research (Theme Category) which will be divided into several detailed themes. General results of the research are as follows: (1) Participants experience three types of violence (2) Victims' rejection of violence based on their thinking style which means violence should not be tolerated. (3) Social support greatly influences the victim's ability to survive (4) Initially, participants did not get adequate social support which caused the victim's inability to rise again. When participants begin to receive social support, they continue to try to get out of violence. (5) Several active strategies to control or stop violence can be found in the results of the analysis of research data. (6) Inner strength comes from the behavior of faith in God and identity as a mother. (7) Positive results obtained in this life. Ultimately, these themes will contribute to the resilience model of Intimate Partner Violence. Research conclusions will be discussed based on relevant theory.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
