A new triterpenoid saponin named bredemeyeroside B has been isolated from the roots of Bredemeyera floribunda and its structure elucidated as 3-O-JJ-D-glucopyranosyl-2fl,3J1,27trihydroxyolean-1 2-en-23,28-dioic acid 28-O-/J-o-xylopyranosyl-(1 -4)-[Ji-o-apiofuranosyl-(1 -*3)J-a-L-rhamnopyranosyl-( 1 -2)a-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1 -3]-/J-n-fucopyranoside by means of MS, NMR and chemical evidence. In addition rutin was also isolated. In laboratory tests bredemeyeroside B showed snake venom antidote activity.
A new triterpenoid saponin named bredemeyeroside D has been isolated from Bredemeyera floribunda Willd. and its structure elucidated as 3‐O‐β‐D‐glucopyranosyl‐2β,3β,27‐trihydroxyolean‐12‐en‐23,28‐dioic acid 28‐O‐β‐D‐xylopyranosyl ‐ (1−4) ‐ α ‐ L ‐ rhamnopyranosyl ‐ (1→2) ‐ [α ‐ L ‐ rhamnopyranosyl ‐ (1→3)] ‐ β ‐ D ‐ fucopyranoside by means of MS, NMR and chemical evidences. In laboratory testings bredemeyeroside D showed a significant snake venom antidote activity.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
