The study aims to determine and describe the effect of principal academic supervision, principal transformational leadership, and school climate toward pedagogic and professional competence of teachers in Senior High School in Lembata Regency. The research uses a quantitative approach with the ex-post facto type. The population was 200 teachers of Senior High School who taught national exam subjects in Lembata Regency. The sample was 127 teachers using the simple random sampling technique. Data collection used is questionnaires with expert validation and empirical tests. Multiple regressions are used to analyze the data. Based on the study results, it was found that the principal's academic supervision affected teacher competence. The principal's transformational leadership also affected teacher competence, and the school climate affected teacher competence. So that the principal's academic supervision, principal's transformational leadership, and school climate on teacher competence in Lembata.
The study aims to identify and develop Novice Teacher Induction Program Model in SlemanRegency,Indonesia.ThisstudyusedthemethodofResearchandDevelopment BorgandGall.Inthisstudy,ResearchandDevelopmentwassimplifiedintofourstages from ten steps, namely: (1) the preliminary stage which is the initial research stage and gathering information about the implementation of Primary School Novice Teacher Induction Program (PIGP), (2) planning of Primary School Novice Teacher Induction Program (PIGP) as the development of initial product forms, (3) testing, evaluation and revision stages through assessment of model and product feasibility and limited testing, and (4) implementation phase of Novice Teacher Induction Program (PIGP) for Primary school. The data collection techniques used include: (1) Focus Group Discussion (FGD), (2) observation, (3) interviews, and (4) documentation studies. Next, quantitative and qualitative data analysis were used as data analysis techniques in this research. The study revealed that the development of Novice Teacher Induction Program (PIGP) was carried out in four stages: 1) the stage of designing the model and design, 2) expert validation, 3) testing, and 4) program implementation. At the design stage, the model is designed based on the results of the study and needs analysis of the PIPG model. Based on the results of the needs analysis, the school has a variety of mentoring techniques for novice teachers. However, in general the guidance of the learning process or counseling is carried out by the principal and senior teacher.
Kekurangan biaya adalah salah satu penyebab utama rendahnya partisipasi masyarakat dalam melanjutkan studi pada tingkat pendidikan tinggi. Masyarakat Manggarai mengenal salah satu bentuk kearifan lokal dalam mengatasi persoalan pembiayaan pendidikan. Wuat Wa’i adalah satu bentuk gotong royong dalam mendapatkan pembiayaan pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan Wuat Wa’i sebagai bentuk gotong royong masyarakat Manggarai dalam upaya mendukung pendidikan anak ke jenjang perguruan tinggi. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis pendekatan naratif untuk menggali peristiwa dan cerita yang terjadi di tempat penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa bentuk gotong royong dalam Wuat Wa’i adalah mengumpulkan dana untuk pendidikan dan memberi sumbangan moril berupa do’a dan nasihat berbasis budaya.
