The article aims to introduce the issue of food waste and all attempts to prevent action. Business and politics are almost interdependent, and any discussion of an economic nature is not complete without a political contribution. The role of politics and politicians in shaping economic activities was and is widely discussed. In the article, there will be a discussion on the problems of food losses and waste in Poland as the member of EU and in India. The idea of the topic came during the tenure of collaboration between representatives of both departments. Conclusions of the study found some similarities and a lot of differences between the countries. Studies have shown that negative attitude of house-hold towards food waste is not frequently reflected in consumers’ behavior, despite their fundamental knowledge on how to reduce food waste. Properly selected and presented information will stimulate both consumer’s attitude and behavior.
The aim of the article is to present the challenges in the field of agriculture related to implementing the European Green Deal (EGD). These challenges arise from the implementation of sustainable development strategies and the related efforts to arrest climate change and create a more circular economy. During this time of a global Covid-19 pandemic, it is worth preparing an approach, based on the principles set out in the EGD, that will maximize opportunities for agricultural development and which can be put into place as soon as the pandemic begins to wane. The article presents a number of possibilities in this regard.
The aim of the study was to examine whether there are non-tariff barriers (NTB s) in Poland’s trade
with neighboring countries and in what amounts. For this purpose, a gravitational model of international
trade was used, in which the parameters of selected variables were estimated in 4 agri-food sectors:
agricultural raw materials, dairy products, food, fruit and vegetables, and meat products. The estimation
of NTB s was the smallest in all sectors mentioned in Poland’s exports to Slovakia. The largest restrictions
except for the dairy sector occur in Poland’s trade with Ukraine. The largest non-tariff barriers in Poland’s
trade with neighbors occur in the agricultural raw materials sector, and the smallest in meat products.
In addition, the model confirmed the veracity of the Linder hypothesis.
