El objetivo principal de este trabajo es dar a conocer la figura de Gertrudis Segovia, una escritora sevillana de principios del siglo XX. Su obra tuvo una notable repercusión en aquellos años, pero esta cayó en el olvido con el trascurrir del tiempo, como sucede con el legado de muchas escritoras. Para recuperar su figura, proponemos analizar las distintas fuentes de la época, especialmente periodísticas, y nos aproximaremos a su producción poética, principalmente a través de su obra Poesías (1911). El análisis de sus versos permite establecer los tres ejes fundamentales en torno a los cuales gira su universo poético: la familia, el patriotismo y regionalismo, y la religión. El acercamiento a su obra supone poner en valor la creación literaria de Gertrudis Segovia, injustamente olvidada, y reconstruir una parte del patrimonio literario de las escritoras andaluzas.

From the second half of the 20th century, the issue of women’s writing has been of considerable interest in literary studies, highlighting the need to know women as writers and as literary subjects, in order to understand female experience first-hand. This approach to written texts is based on two fundamental aspects of study: women as writers and the representation of women in the text. This has made it possible to examine how women are represented and what topics women writers prefer, for example, motherhood, a literary topos par excellence in Italian literature. Despite this, although motherhood is present in numerous works, the voices of actual mothers are largely absent: mothers and motherhood are in fact narrated from the point of view of daughters. In view of that, there are two main aims of this study: (1) to examine the possible reasons for the absence of the mother’s point of view and (2) to analyze some contemporary Italian literarature narrated by mothers themselves.
ResumenEn este artículo se analiza el papel que jugaron las escritoras italianas en la configuración de uno de los géneros literarios que mayor repercusión alcanzó en Italia: la novela histórica.Desde sus inicios, este género se ha relacionado casi de manera exclusiva con Alessandro Manzoni, más conocido como el padre de la novela histórica italiana. No obstante, las mujeres también participaron del género histórico y, según varios estudios, se desviaron ligeramente del canon tradicional para buscar nuevas formas y explorar una temática que enriquecerá el género y aportará una nueva visión de la historia y de la literatura.Palabras clave: Escritoras, novela histórica, Italia, literatura, historia, Alessandro Manzoni, tradición literaria. AbstractThis article analyzes the role that Italian women writers played in the configuration of one of the literary genres, which had a greater impact in Italy: the historical novel. Ever since its origins, this genre has been related almost exclusively with Alessandro Manzoni, best known as the father of Italian historical novel. However, women also played a fundamental role in the historical genre, and according to different studies, they slightly diverted from the traditional canon in order to try new methods and explore new themes, which would ultimately enrich the genre and provide with an innovative view of history and literature.
