This study aims to determine the impact of recruitment and selection process of substitute teachers to the academic performance of the senior high school students' in Information and Communication Technology enrolled in a school in Samar, Philippines. Using the purposive sampling technique and appropriate statistical tools, findings revealed that the skills required for each specialized learning area (subject) in the ICT strand are centered on database management and programming, entrepreneurship, and management of systems and technology. Moreover, specialization, teaching schedule, and teaching load are effective measures to properly evaluate the cost of assigning teaching personnel to relieve an absentee faculty member. It was recommended that these findings may serve as baseline information to properly plan the hiring of manpower or human resource manpower.
This study aims to draw up a collective context of faith to Señor Santo Niño from the different experiences of the devotees in Cebu. It specifically answers the representation of faith: meaning of faith, experiences of faith, effects to daily life. Qualitative design was used in the study through katutubong pamamaraan of Enriquez such as pakikipag-usap, pagtatanung-tanong and pakikipagpalagayang-loob so that actual essential data gathered. This study anchored in Filipino Psychology of Enriquez, that refers to the psychology born out of the experience, thought and orientation of the Filipinos, based on the full use of Filipino culture and language. The approach is one of "indigenization from within" whereby the theoretical framework and methodology emerge from the experiences of the people from the indigenous culture. The findings of the study reveal that the devotees conceptualize faith as their beliefs to Santo Niño and it rooted through different miracles that they received towards being an optimistic person in life despite of all challenges experienced. Based on the findings, the study concluded that collectively, the faith by the devotees is connected to all miracles experienced from Señor Santo Niño that lead their strong faith. Thus, the study recommends in the future studies that the relationship of faith and devotion to Señor Santo Niño will be focused.
The present study explores the impressions of the pre-service technology and livelihood education teachers on-site training for the course beauty care services. The descriptive survey-case study design was used. Data were gathered through a series of interviews and analyzed the Braun & Clarke’s six-phase framework. Thirty purposively chosen senior preservice teachers served as respondents. Thematically analyzed data generated a single theme - theory translation opportunity. Generally, the theme means that this activity paved the way for these teachers to further their skills and enhanced their knowledge relative to beauty care services, which, accordingly, is helpful and beneficial to these prospective teachers.
The present study investigates prospective teachers’ inclinations for technology and livelihood education as a college degree program. Utilizing the descriptive survey research design, 25 prospective technological and vocational teachers were purposively chosen as respondents. Data were gathered through interviews and thematically analyzed in the lens of Wa-Mbaleka’s 10-steps Model of Data Analysis. Results of the findings revealed that these pre-service teachers consider the program the most ideal to take up as a degree because of its potential to give them employment and expose them to business ventures in the future, and, in turn, have better lives. Given this, it is thus imperative for the faculty members in the department handling the program to ensure that they are able to meet the desired learning competencies to help the program takers realize their professional goals of enrolling the program.
