Initial growth of Gmelina arborea Roxb. applying different fertilization treatments in South Pacific of Costa Rica Gmelina arborea (melina) is a fast growing species, however, applying proper fertilization can increase their productivity. In this study different fertilization treatments were tested in two different essays in Finca Puntarenas, Osa. In the first essay twelve fertilization treatments was applied in the establishment of the plantation and trees were measured at 11 months of age, where the largest growth in height (4,87 m) was obtained by applying 64 g tre -1 of fertilizer formula 19
