There are many influences that affect the preferences of grade 10 students in choosing a track to proceed to senior high school. Likewise, this study aims to identify influence of preference of a Senior High School track that is commonly encountered by the Grade 10 students in terms of Gender, Socio-Economic Status, Average academic grades, nature of parent’s occupation; and, strand and the level of influence of the respondent to be associated with preferences in choosing a track in senior high school in terms of family influence-decision; peer influence; financial condition; and employability. The research tool was a survey questionnaire. The questionnaire is composed of respondent’s profile and 10 statements to be rated. The factors fairly influence preferences of the senior high school. In terms of gender, male students consider their socio-economic status and their parent’s occupation as factors in choosing their track in Senior High School while female students consider their peers as a factor in choosing a track in Senior High School.
Studying the relationship between students' internet usage level and mental health was the purpose of this study. As respondents, 200 students from various schools in Mandaue City participated in this study. The internet use and mental health questionnaire were used to collect data. A weighted mean and chi-square test were used to analyze the data. There is a correlation between internet usage and mental health among students, according to the study. Students used the internet for academic purposes and to interact with each other. Students used the internet to purchase items and for any other purpose. Students had experiences that pushed them to learn and improve as individuals.
Financial satisfaction is a state in which students satisfied and contented to the financial support given by their parents. Students’ persistence is the capability of students to continue in their studies even though they know that it would be difficult. The study intends to assess the level of students’ satisfaction in financial support and their students’ persistence in studies. The study used the descriptive correlational research design. The researcher used rating scale as a medium to obtain and gathered data needed. The tool is a researcher-made tool which consists of two parts which part A that tries to determine the Students’ Satisfaction in financial support and part B which will determine the Students Persistence in Studies. The respondents of the study were chosen from Grade 11 and Grade 12 students of Jagobiao National High School with a total population of 235 students. The results of the study revealed that in table 1, students have a high level of satisfaction in financial support. Students who have enough financial support from their parents can feel satisfied. In table 2, students’ persistence in studies depends on the financial support given by their parents. Students persist more if they have enough financial aid support and they also produces presentable works and excellent output and pass it on time or ahead of time. The study also reveals that there is a correlation between students’ satisfaction in financial support and students’ persistence in studies as the null hypothesis was rejected.
This study intends to conceptualize the conglomeration of cultures between the villagers of a Zambian community and the missionary-educators. With the missionary-educators extending their activities in the village for more than a decade, the village people were positively responding. Thus, there was a gradual cultural adaptation. With the constant challenges in basic needs, language -communication between missionary educators and the villagers, cultural differences, and education. The missionary educators strategically intervened the incumbent lives of the villagers in order to update them with the world trends. The activities and effort of the missionary educators were designed formally through projects and programs intervention. The researchers conceptualized the theoretical abstract of the merging cultural practices between villagers and the missionary-educators. Though strategically intentional programmed and created, the missionary learned and the adapted particular cultures of the villagers which maximize their realization about cross-culture.
Family can inspire the child to perform well in school. When the students belong to a complete family they can gain more confidence to do the task. Students who have complete family can be encouraged themselves to produce positive learning style in their studies. When the student belongs to a broken family the set of behaviors can be different towards certain task. Using the correlation quantitative design, the study was conducted in the Jagobiao National High School-Senior High Department in which the data were treated with chi-square to determine the relationship between family status and self-motivation. As a result, family status and self-motivation has no significant correlation in studies of any students, self-motivation exist regardless of family status, broken and complete. The motivation of student deals with their innate behavior and attitude to achieve better academic performance.
