Gobierno corporativo y riesgo de quiebra en las empresas chilenas Corporate governance and bankruptcy risk in the chilean companies Governança corporativa e risco de falência em empresas chilenasThe present research examines and determines the characteristics of the companies that are adopting the practices of Corporate Governance in Chile, through the analysis of the responses to the questionnaire required by General Standard N°385, in addition to establish, whether this adoption affects variables of financial solvency of companies in review this was measured through the model created by Edward Altman known as Z-score (1968). The statistical tests allowed to establish a low adoption and high heterogeneity of economic sectors and sub-sectors, besides that there is no relation in the adoption of Corporate Governance practices and the degree of solvency measured through the Z-score model, although if a relation was established with two of the ratios that set up the model.
