SynopsisMost municipal refuse is treated by incineration plants. As an environmentallyfriendly approach, the ash melting plants which have been introduced in recent years will convert the ash to a pollution-free slag and reduce its volume. This paper describes the supervisory and control system. Its features include: (1) The practical application of the EIC (Electrical control, Instrumentation and Computer) integration system. (2) The user-friendly operation system and accurate process management. (3) Combining high powered computer controls with instrumentation. (4) Environmentally durable sensors.
