Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan dalam rangka lebih memaksimalkan penggunaan teknologi sebagai alat bantu dalam proses belajar mengajar. Lembaga kursus merupakan tempat menambah wawasan atau ilmu bagi siswa selain sekolah. E-Home dan Fun Learning merupakan contoh dari lembaga kursus Bahasa Inggris yang ada di Bangkalan. Penggunaan teknologi masih sangat minim ditemukan di lembaga kursus tersebut, tutor hanya fokus menyampaikan materi pelajaran menggunakan buku teks dan media audiovisual yang terkesan monoton, hal ini menjadi salah satu faktor dilakukannya program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini. Penerapan google classroom di lembaga kursus Bahasa Inggris ini dipersiapkan untuk dilakukan oleh para tutor di lembaga kursus E-Home dan Fun Learning guna membantu meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan memanfaatkan teknologi pembelajaran. Hasil dari kegiatan ini mampu meningkatan kemampuan tutor Bahasa Inggris di lembaga kursus dalam hal penerapan teknologi pembelajaran, khususnya penggunaan google classroom di dalam kelas.
Listening is the most important skill in learning language, especially English as foreign language. This research was done to know the influence of podcast on undergraduate students’ listening comprehension. Related to the problem, this is a quantitative research. Where the sample is only chose one class as experimental subjects from all third semester of English Department students at STKIP PGRI Bangkalanin academic year 2018/2019 with random sampling technique. To examine hypothesis of the research, the researcher used t-test in which the researcher defined one class as one group pre-test post-test.The finding of the research, it can be concluded that there is an influence ofpodcast on undergraduate students’ listening comprehension. It is shown from the result of this research, that t-value is 23.18 which higher than t-table by the level of significant 0.05 which is 1.72. The suggestion of the researchfor the lecturersthat they can choose the most suitable technique used in listening comprehensiondealing with the level of the students.
Learning of cross cultural based writing skills is the process of conveying different cultural values to be consciously understood and presented in written text. The purpose of the research is to convey and apply the new culture of various national capitals in learning writing skills. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design, the data were collected directly by observing the activities of ECP (English Camp Program). in Mojokerto. Then, researcher analyzed the dat using content analysis of social treatment with reducing, presenting data and drawing conclusions.The result is cross-cultural based learning makes ECP participants easy to write because of the availability of a variety of theoretically and practically references. Crosscultural based learning is not a psychological problem but a very interesting scientific study to be applied into real life. Cross-cultural understanding is the main element in producing comprehensive writing skill.
Bilingualism is used as a cover term for multilingualism, too – speaking more than two languages. Some researchers use the term plurilingualism for speaking more than two languages. few bilinguals are as proficient in any second language as they are in their first language. This research aims to determine the implication of bilingualism in EFL classroom. Descriptive qualitative is used as a research approach and its application uses phenomenology methods. The findings showed that the implication of bilingualism to students’ speaking. The implication is about interact and apply the lecturer’ utterance. It can be said this implication related to the students’ understanding of the word meaning in speaking. Second implication from the observation data is about students’ comprehension in a certain word, such as compounding. The lecturer used bilingualism to explain the meaning of the word. By using Bahasa, the students were easier to understand the lecturer statement. In this case, the students knew what the lecturer’ uttered and finally they could know the meaning of the word. <span>Writing is a powerful multipurpose tool that helps us discover and explore more fully what we are thinking so that we learn as well as express our feelings and thoughts. One of reason that students lazy to written something because the methods are used by their teacher. Most of them still used direct learning method (extracurricular learning), the students were bored and they are did not enjoy when teaching learning process. So, that is why, in this study the writers try to use snowball throwing method to help students in learning descriptive writing. The data collection methods which used in this study are observation checklist and questionnaire checklist. Observation used to find out the implementation snowball throwing on students writing in descriptive text. The questionnaire was used to know the students’ responses after being taught descriptive text by using snowball throwing method. This study reveals that the highest aspect score of observation checklist in first observation is less, but in the second meeting, the writers found that highest aspect score of observation was good. Based on data questionnaire checklist, the writers found that the highest students’ responses were good. Based on this result data resource above, the writers concluded that the students could master writing after they were taught using snowball throwing in writing descriptive text. Finally, the writers suggested that the students had to practice their writing skill in many times. Besides, teacher had to have an interesting method in teaching writing descriptive text.</span>
