Algae react to changes in their environment, such as temperature, nutrients, etc. The uncertainty in aquatic environments exacerbates several interacting pressures. As a result, lakes are vital to society because they help to mitigate flood risks. It maintains the natural equilibrium, allowing flora and fauna to flourish. The primary objective of this research is to identify the trophic state index, category, and algal assemblages of Dighalipukhuri Lake. The findings show that algal blooms of the Microcystis species are the most abundant and have a higher occupancy in the Dighalipukhuri Lake, which has a TSI of 58.6, indicating that it is Supereutrophic. Thus revealing that the quality is poor and unsatisfactory.
Limnology is the study of the aquatic system. The current research focuses on the physical, chemical, and biological properties of Bomani beel and Garjan beel in the Kampur district. The study looked into the existence of phytoplankton and compared it to two different beels. The community of plankton changes the water quality based on the parameters. The study looked at 12 water quality characteristics, as well as algae weight analysis and statistical analysis. There are no significant differences in temperature, pH, alkalinity, hardness, turbidity, or other chemical properties. The chlorophyll-a varies significantly; for example, in the winter, the Bomani beel has 10.232 and the Garjan beel has 7.312. Both beels have a Mesotrophic trophic state index. As a result, it is critical to raise public awareness and develop policy strategies for the conservation of these natural resources.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
