Sports injuries are commonly seen in sportsperson. Sports medicine helps in physical fitness along with treatment and also preventive of injury related to sports, exercise etc. All sports are prone to risk of injuries in one or other form. Varieties of sports injuries are seen in form of bruises, sprains, strains, tear and stress fractures caused when an abnormal stress is placed on tendons, joints, ligaments, bones or muscles. In Ayurvedic classics, Vatadosha is responsible for all the body movement and when it is vitiated due to the excessive use of particular joint, it cause pain in the affected muscle, joint and ligaments. In sport injuries Vata dosha is aggravated due to increased risk of trauma or injury, which may leads to pain in the affected parts. As Vatadosha is responsible for any kind of pain in the body, hence in this case Vatashamak Chikitsa should be the choice of treatment which includes Prakritisthapana with internal medicine or with external therapies like Lepana, Upanaha, Aalepa, to promote tissue healing, Patrapinda Sweda in stiffness and pain, along with treatment modalities like Katibasti, Bandhana, Agnikarma and Raktamokshana. In various Ayurvedic text, the Marma mainly considered as fatal points of body in which any trauma may leads to severe disabilities or even death. These Marma points can be utilized in wise manner for treatment of various sports injuries.

The treatment of Manyastambha, were proposed for prevention and control by ayurveda.In ayurvedathere are very treatment modalities,among them nasyahas been given much importance role inUurdhvajatrugata roga. Acharya charkahas indicated nnasyatherapy exclusively for the management of Manyastambha.The current article discusses the function of particular ayurvedicmethods in the treatment of Manyastambha(cervical spondylosis).
Skin is vital organ of human body. It is the largest organ of the integumentary system guards the underlying muscles, bones, ligaments and internal organs, seat of complexion, conscientious for ones personality, which maintains beauty, provides identity in society, envelopes internal vital organs, protect us from exterior invasion. In Ayurveda almost all skin disorder are explained under Kustha Rogadhikara. Ekakustha is a type of Kshudra Kustha. It is Vata Kaphaj disorder. It can be correlated with psoriasis both of these have similar sign and symptomatology. Psoriasis is long lasting autoimmune inflammatory papulosquamous disorder characterized by patches of abnormal skin. These skin patches are typically red, itchy and scaly. Its symptoms often worsen during winter and with certain medication, such as beta blockers etc. Psychological stress can also play a role in manifestation of psoriasis. Both males and females are equally affected by this disease. Approximately 1-2% of World’s total population is affected by psoriasis. Due to its chronic recurrent nature. It is a challenge to treat this disease. In Ayurveda both Shodhan and Shaman Chikitsa are mentioned for Kushtha. In this case study first Deepan-pachan then Virechana as Shodhan Chikitsa and Shaman yoga were given, which showed good result in Ekakushtha.
Lumbar spinal stenosis is abnormal narrowing of spinal canal at lumbar region, may occur as a result of progression of spondylotic changes. In this observational clinical study Madhu tailik basti was administered as Yoga basti for a period of 8 days. The Madhu tailik basti provided a highly significant effect on pain, stiffness, pricking sensation, twitching and significant effect on heaviness. SLR test, tenderness and Oswestry disability index showed highly significant effect of treatment. The overall assessment showed; most of the patients, that is 07 patients (70%) were showed marked relieved, followed by 03 patients (30%) were moderately improved after completion of the treatment. The drugs used in Madhu tailik basti are considered as Laghu, Ruksha, Ushna, Teekshna having Vata-kapha shamaka action. Owing to this property, antagonism to Kapha and Vata & the Teekshna Guna of basti help in overcoming the Srotodushti causes potent anti-inflammatory, pain relieving effect. There was improvement in overall functional status after eight days treatment with Madhu tailik basti. The patients can make significant gains in symptoms, SLR angle and Oswestry disability index score in relatively short periods of time. Despite the limitations of this clinical study, conclude that the Madhu tailik basti is a simple and effective treatment modality for Lumbar spinal stenosis without any adverse effects.
All our activities of day-to-day life like sitting, standing, jumping, running, walking, bending, stretching, etc depends on the integrity and healthy condition of our joints. We cannot even imagine living easily with painful, swollen and stiff joints. There are many diseases which affects at some or the other part of our life. Many of them give pain and distress, others disturb our living. Osteoarthritis is one such chronic degenerative disease which when afflicts the joints makes one feel that life is definitely a curse. It occurs mainly in weight bearing joints or may also affect other joints. In Ayurveda it is considered as sandhigata vata which can be managed by different panchkarma therapies and medications. Physical activity such as yoga along with panchkarma gives joint more stability and helps in fast healing. Hence rehabilitation of both yoga and panchkarma gives a better approach towards osteoarthritis.
