This article aims to investigate how the practice of collaborative consumption, which privileges the "use" in detriment of "possessions" of goods, influences the construction, reconstruction and deconstruction of consumer identity. The practice of coworking was chosen as a means to conduct the research. The study was theoretically based on the themes: culture and consumption, collaborative consumption, coworking and identity. Using a qualitative, ethnographic methodology, the study focused on people who use coworking to work, and sought to identify and analyze aspects related to their consumption habits and identity traits. The study collected the data through participant observations and in-depth interviews, producing results that enabled the articulation with the CCT - Consumer Culture Theory. It was found that the collaborative consumption is part of the social and cultural universe of this group of consumers to the extent that, in addition to coworking, this is an environment that presupposes collaboration. The fact that they are working in this environment and living with other people in the same situation, makes this climate of collaboration extrapolate the walls of coworking and influence them in order to adopt other attitudes and collaborative habits, which shows a relationship between consumption and identity.
PurposeThe purpose of the study is to understand how the consumption of online pornography runs through fantasy, discourse and the exercise of female sexuality.Design/methodology/approachFirst, the study analyzed a few information obtained from a secret group of the social media Facebook. Secondly, the research was developed based on the information gathered during the observation period; 11 in-depth interviews were conducted with women that participated in the aforementioned group. In order to analyze the data, the study used the French discourse analysis as methodological tool.FindingsIt was possible to realize that the consumption of pornographic content is motivated by curiosity, pursuit of variety and sexual fantasies, and it ends up strengthening stereotypes related to the concept of beauty and body standards. Also, the consumption of pornography can be seen as an important feature in the reformulation of perceptions and creation of senses related to pornography itself, pleasure, self-knowledge and in the constitution of the subjectivities of the consumers, despite the influence of the cultural context in which they are inserted into.Research limitations/implicationsThe consumption of online pornography can be seen as an important “social operator”; that is, the consumption of pornography reflects and refracts what is socially established as beautiful and adequate in terms of the human figure. The outcomes of this research lead to debates that can challenge standardized world perspectives, besides expanding the discussion of such consumption made by women.Originality/valueTaking into consideration the significant volume of pornography consumption and the high figures that this market indicates, one can notice that literature related to consumption studies has neglected this specific theme.

Palavras-chave: Avaliação Docente, Educação Superior, Participação do Aluno

We consider students’ individual characteristics and programs’ characteristics. The data are from the semiannual teaching evaluation from a private higher education institution between 2016 and 2018. We used multilevel logistic regression and the results indicate that both individual and program characteristics can affect the probability of student participation in teaching evaluation, i.e., being female, over 41 years old, receiving funding or scholarship, as well as being enrolled in a teacher licensure program or a full-time program are associated to higher probability of participating in teaching evaluations.

Keywords: Evaluation of Teaching, Higher Education, Student Participation
