In this paper a novel high-frequency model of Induction motor is presented for investigating induction motor behavior in a wide electromagnetic interference (EMI)-frequency range from 100 Hz to 30 MHz. This model is suitable for prediction of common mode current, EMI problems and terminal over-voltage analysis. The model parameters are estimated by asymptotical method using novel differential and common-mode impedance measurements. The values of parameters are limited in a specified range and then optimized using genetic algorithm (GA). A least mean square method is used with GA optimization to solve the identification problem. The proposed model can also be used to predict the high-frequency problems and design EMI filters to improve electromagnetic compatibility limitation in cable fed motor-drive system. In order to validate the proposed high-frequency motor model, novel common-mode and differential-mode measuring tests have been carried out on the 9.3 kW industrial induction motor using a network analyzer in a wide frequency range as described. Very good agreement was seen between the experimental and simulation results of the proposed model in both magnitude and phase.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
