Electric utilities are keenly interested in the promise of fusion: large-scale electricity production anywhere, with virtually no natural resource depletion or environmental pollution. To expedite development of commercially viable fusion systems, the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) -the R&D wing of the U.S. electric utility industry -recently convened a panel of top utility R&D managers and executive oKcers to identify the key criteria that must be met by fusion plants in order to be acceptable to utilities. The panel's findings, summarized in this report, emphasize competitive economics, positive public perception, and regulatory simplicity.
The relation between switching speed of a trigger circuit and the gainbandwidth (GBW) of an amplifier is discussed, A special series connection of two tubes-referred to as a dynamic plate-load amplifier-is then presented and analyzed, It is shown that the dynamic plate-load amplifier may have three times the advantage in GB W over a conventional amplifier using the same tube type. This GB W improvement, recommends its utilization in fast trigger circuits .
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
