Treatment with DEGR-VIIa or TFPI for 3 days in this rabbit atherosclerotic injury model reduced angiographic restenosis and decreased neointimal hyperplasia compared with controls. These findings highlight the importance of early initiators of the extrinsic coagulation pathway, especially factor VII and tissue factor, in the response to arterial injury.
Elevated C-reactive protein plasma levels still persisting 96 h after stent implantation might reflect a prolonged inflammatory reaction to coronary stent implantation which might causally be involved in pathophysiological mechanisms leading to restenosis.
After pregnancy, early-onset and late-onset pre-eclamptic patients exhibit differences in vascular function. This result indicates the presence of a higher cardiovascular risk in patients after early-onset pre-eclampsia.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
