A 24-hr exposure to therapeutic hypercapnia in endotoxin-stimulated, spontaneously breathing rats is associated with a proinflammatory immune response in the lung and anti-inflammatory response in the spleen as well as an increase in certain histologic indices of endotoxin-induced lung injury.
Elevated cTnI concentrations were observed in 50% of patients treated with intravenous terbutaline for status asthmaticus. Clinically significant cardiotoxicity was not observed except in 1 patient in whom the abnormal ECG findings normalized upon discontinuation of terbutaline. There was no statistically significant difference in asthma severity or in the risk factors for severe asthma in children with and without elevation of cTnI concentrations.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
