This article mainly aims to verify the moderating role environmental turbulence plays on the relationship between customer relationship management and business performance. The research was performed based on the survey performed in Ghana telecommunication sector, and the sample included 579 staff from MTN Ghana, VODAFONE Ghana, ALTEL/TIGO Ghana, ESPRESSO Ghana and GLOBACOM Ghana. The statistical analysis of the obtained results was carried out using multiple linear regression analysis with STATA and AMOS statistical software package. The obtained results clearly show that all constructs of CRM namely information sharing, customer involvement, joint problem solving, long-term partnership and technology-based CRM have a significantly positive impact on business performance. The moderation analysis indicated that technological turbulence positively moderates the relationship that existed between the various constructs of customer relationship management and business performance indicating that technological turbulence significantly strengthens the relationship between these variables. On the contrary, market turbulence significantly weakens the relationship between the various customer relationship management constructs and business performance. These findings contribute immensely to literature and knowledge by indicating which moderating environmental turbulence significantly strengthens and weakens the existing relationship between customer relationship management and business performance within the Ghanaian telecommunication sector.
In recent times, there has been an increasing push to develop social entrepreneurship as a strategy for poverty alleviation, rural development and economic growth in most developing countries. This has accounted for several policies to encourage more individuals and organizations to venture into social entrepreneurship yet less is known about the intriguing factors that account for the intentions of especially overseas students from developing countries to venture into social entrepreneurship. Hence, this study applied the Structural Equation Model with Smart PLS software to examine some key determinants of social entrepreneurship intentions from the perspectives of overseas students from developing countries currently studying in China. A total sample of 280 overseas students from the developing countries currently studying at the Jiangsu University in China was randomly selected for the study. The results revealed that Psychological capital, Empathy, moral judgment, knowledge, and social support have significant impacts on social entrepreneurship intentions. Importantly, Psychological capital partially mediates the impact of empathy, moral judgment, knowledge and social support on social entrepreneurship intentions. The study recommends that overseas students in China should be exposed to social entrepreneurial skills and social problems as part of their training to be able to develop their intentions and strong behaviors for social value creation and social entrepreneurship. The results have both theoretical and empirical contributions to extending research scholarship in the field.
Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) has served as a huge promoter of growth for many economies over the years, playing the role of supplementary income source for economies. The trend being identified now, however is that FDIs do come with adverse effect for host economies with one of the sector feeling the impact of the adverse impact being the local entrepreneurship. This study therefore measured the severity of the adverse effect of FDIs on the economy of China whiles also evaluating the contribution of FDIs to the overall economy using Sequential Explanatory Design (SED). Using Statistical Package for Social Scientist (SPSS), the researchers conducted statistical analysis like t-test, Correlation, Multiple Regression Analysis, R-Square, F-statistics and Variance Inflator Factors (VIF). The findings of the study revealed that FDIs indeed have both positive and negative implications for the Chinese economy. The positive effects come in the form of inspiring innovation and infrastructural development, influx of investment capital and the liberalization of the economy form monopolies and unfair trading The negative effect came in the form of stifling domestic entrepreneurship development as the foreign firms compete with local entrepreneurs for market, expertise, labor, capital and space for operation
Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in China have seen massive as well as viable progress in recent years owing to different factors which has progressively contributed to China’s economic development. Frail bonds with external market and technological revolution, and limited SME funding, lack of proactiveness and risk taking is threatening the sustainability of such development and lowering the entrepreneurial orientation (EO) among the populace. It is against this backdrop that this study was conducted to examine level of OE among Chinese firms as well as factors influencing the development of EO spirit among Chinese firms. The study used Statistical Package for Social Scientist (SPSS) and Microsoft Excel to conduct both descriptive and inferential analysis like mean, standard deviation, and graphical representation, t-test, Correlation, Multiple Regression Analysis, R-Square, F-statistics and Variance Inflator Factors (VIF) to determine the determinants of EO of four hundred (400) SMEs Jiangsu Province of China. The finding of the study supported available literature and confirmed innovation, risk-taking and proactiveness to be the main determinants of entrepreneurial orientation. Other factors that affect EO included structural and relational support, availability of relevant resources, informalization of institutions as well as breaking down bureaucracies and extending corporate boundaries.
