The aim of this article is to show that we can obtain interesting results in the domain of nominal classification even if we use only one criterion, in our case the spatial structure of localisation se trouver + SP locatif. Our study applies this test to all types of nouns (see, inter alia, mass, countable, abstract, concrete, property, perception nouns) in order to examine which are the best candidates that can be hosted by our target structure. The reader will find a fine description of every possibility or impossibility of use throughout eight "nominal sections" and an explanation for the different reasons of blocking is given in the conclusion. This "experience" may seem limited but it finally turns out to offer very useful information not only about nouns' semantics, but also about space semantics and the construction se trouver + SP locatif itself.
How but also why tie up pleonasms with semantic universals as quantification and qualification ? By showing that in structures containing sequences of the type Noun + attributive adjective (“adjectif épithète” in French), the latter ensures completely its semantic function : either by quantifying with an intensive value, either by simply characterizing the Noun, rather from the speaker’s standpoint and not by its notional content, either again by identifying a part of the entire “Time” set. Thus, adjectives are efficient in descriptions and they depict the speaker’s conception of the “objective” reality. Pleonasms relate the world, indeed in a different manner, but they do not relate tautology
La métaphore [Le corps est un instrument de mesure] résume l'aptitude de certaines parties du corps humain à servir d'instrument de mesure ou de repère dans une opération de quantification. Dans cet emploi métaphorique l'élément corporel soit se substitue à une mesure chiffrée, soit marque seulement une quantité grande ou petite, soit indique l'évaluation d'un objet sémantique abstrait.
