The latest Pandemic has changed not only our lifestyle behavior, but at the same the manner how we work, study, and evolve. We witnessed work from home, or remote working, as well as learning from home changes. The shift from the physical classroom to the online classroom came with advantages, but also with some, disadvantages. In this article, we conducted a research to discover undergraduate and graduate students’ perceptions towards online education. Students and professors are detached for the time being from their universities into online education platforms and video conference rooms, but not without other difficulties and challenges for the academic community. Some universities already had some practice and knew how to manage and use online platforms for different cycle types like: part-time or distance learning programs. Other universities appealed to platforms offered by international organizations like Microsoft or Google. The novelty was that not only the courses and seminars are held online and exams as well, proving to be a provocative issue, both for students and professors. We discovered different factors that influence online education and learning satisfaction. One of the main discoveries was that the future seems to be towards a blended learning system combining physical and online teaching.
Without any doubt, beyond humanitarian consequences, Russia's war in Ukraine will have economic implications, some of which we can already see, others will be more obvious soon. The most important effect is on energy and food prices. Energy security remains the "Achilles' heel" of the European economy, given its heavy dependence on Russian energy imports. In this article, we will analyse, among other implications, what is probable to happen in the commodity trading markets and who are the winners and losers from this difficult situation. We will also have a look at capital flows, what are the perspectives of emerging markets from the area. Another aspect taken into consideration is consumer and business confidence, because, despite significant savings accumulated during the pandemic, there will be an important change from the consumer side, which will nevertheless affect the GDP growth. Given the fact that this is an ongoing event, some of the conclusions may be different at the time of presentation.
Research background: While some researchers see digital globalization as a new form of globalization, others liken digitalisation to the globalization that needs to be managed and driven so that institutions and businesses can meet the challenge of digitalisation together. Digitization has encompassed all aspects of economic and social life. In increasingly fierce competition, technological advances and the challenges of science are becoming catalysts for globalization. There is research that suggests that conventional wisdom would say that globalization has stopped arguing that global trade in goods has flattened and cross-border capital flows have fallen sharply since the economic crisis of 2008. However, research shows that globalization is not reversing but enters a new phase that could be defined by a sustained increase in data and information flows. More than a decade later, the new global crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic is strengthening the role of information and communication technologies in both the economy and social life. Purpose of the article: The aim of this paper is to highlight the main characteristics of digital globalization that have a major impact on current and future economic and social life. Methods: Documentary analysis and review of the literature are the main research methods. These are doubled by a bibliographic analysis of IT tools. Findings & Value added: Following the documentary analysis, we identified a series of characteristics that allow us to consider that global digitalization can become the determining factor of the economy with direct implications in social life.
Labor-market changes necessitate technological change products. The employment rate is influenced by the share of the young population. The economic environment is determined by the level of education of the population in a community. Thus, the labor market requires people with high skills. The article presents an analysis of the level of education of the population, related to three age groups. Knowing the level of education of the population is in favor of both the labor market and the education and training specialists. Job quality is higher when the population has a high level of education. At the same time, employment is more difficult for people with low levels of education. From this point of view, the article explores the evolution of the share of the population by education levels.
Recently, many articles deal with Internet and mobile phones that have penetrated all sectors of the economy, including agriculture, in the light of their benefits. Various reports, including the World Bank, describe the main benefits of new information and communication technologies and promote their greater integration into the wider economy to increase efficiency by completing other production factors and fostering innovation, for example, drastically reducing transaction costs. The article analyzes recent literature but also presents novelty elements that emerged from questions such as the risks associated with new technologies considering that there are not enough studies in the field confirming, on the one hand, the benefits but also the losses caused by them. Keyword: New technology, agriculture, innovation
