After 9.11, terrorism has become the hotspot of research by scholars all over the world, and the fight against terrorism has been intensified. However, under the fight of the whole society, the phenomenon of "the more we fight against terrorism, the more active it becomes" has appeared, which is especially serious in Asia. In this context, we collected data on terrorist activities in Asia by using the GTD anti-terrorist database, and analyzed the singularity of the network of "time-region" and "target type-attack type" relations of terrorist activities by using social network analysis and UCINET. It can be deduced that the Asian region is characterized by the criminalization of terrorist activities, the expansion of the geographical area of activities, the diversification of attack methods and the complexity of the types of targets. Finally, corresponding counter-terrorism strategies will be formulated on the basis of the conclusions, which will provide a guiding theory for future counter-terrorism efforts.
At present, with the development of information technology and the international community's efforts to combat terrorism, terrorism is constantly transforming and escalating, taking on the characteristics of Al-Qaida, globalization and networking. Therefore, it is of great significance to study terrorist organizations from the perspective of social network in order to combat terrorist activities. In this paper, we mainly use the social network analysis method to study the relationship network of terrorist organizations in the Middle East, and analyze their network centrality and density with the help of UCINET, so as to get the conclusion about the characteristics of terrorist organizations, and then formulate corresponding counter-terrorism strategies to provide strong theoretical support for the fight against terrorism.
Until 2020, the threat of international terrorist activities still not diminish, extremists accelerated their flight from the Middle East to many countries in Asia and Africa, and terrorist forces around China became extremely active, thus impacting on regional security. Therefore, the analysis of the development trend and characteristics of terrorist organizations in Asia is of great significance to the fight against terrorism in China. This paper analyzes the density and centrality of "terrorist organization-organization" and "terrorist organization-area of operation" networks in Asia by using UCINET based on the social network analysis method. The characteristics of the networked structure of terrorist organizations, the diversification of participants' backgrounds, the increase in regional connectivity and the improvement of organizational planning capabilities were identified, and corresponding strategies were proposed as the theoretical support for counter-terrorism.
