Luminescent Iron‐Platinum Multinuclear Complexes with Functionalyzed Acetylides
The reaction of [(dippf)2PtCl2] with 2,5 eq. of 5′‐diethinyl‐2,2′‐bipyrimidine in THF/diethylamine results in both the formation of [(dippf)2Pt(‐C≡C‐C8H4N4‐C≡CH)2] (1) and [μ‐(C≡C‐C8H4N4‐C≡C){(dippf)2Pt(‐C≡C‐C8H4N4‐C≡CH)}2] (2) as minor product (dippf: 1,1′‐diisopropylphosphino‐ferrocene; C8H4N8: bipyrimidinediyl‐).
The solid state structures of the complexes were determined by X‐ray crystallography. 1 and 2 are luminescent at room temperature. Quenchung of the emission was observed upon reaction of 1 with PdCl2 or μ‐dichloro‐tetraethylen‐dirhodium.
