In the history of Islamic education, Islamic boarding schools are educational institutions that are most concerned with independence, including economic independence. The strong current of modernization has made the education of Islamic boarding schools lose their originality as an Islamic educational institution that teaches independence. The Independent Islamic Boarding School of Sidoarjo Islamic Boarding School was established in order to restore the originality, namely as an independent educational institution and memandirikan all residents of the cottage and the community around the cottage. This research was conducted with the aim to find out the concept of economic independence education and its implementation at the Independent Belief Islamic Boarding School. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method with a case study approach combined with literature. Thus, this study combines library research and field research. The concept of economic independence education at the Independent Mukmin Islamic Boarding School is an educational concept that combines entrepreneurship education with religious education (diniyyah). in practice, entrepreneurship education gets a greater portion of time than religious education, with the hope that the output of santri will soon be able to be independent in the business world, and this is a force in implementing this concept. In its implementation, this concept also has weaknesses that require improvement and improvement. Among them is that santri only run one particular business, namely the management of coffee beans. This causes students not to know other forms of business. Other problems, the teaching and learning process is not ideal because of the lack of educational facilities, limited teaching staff, and the learning time of the santri is limited by their lecture activities outside the hut.
