Disamping itu belum diketahui komponen-komponen yang termasuk kategori kritis, sehingga proses perawatan menjadi kurang efektif dengan indikasi kerusakan yang masih terus terjadi. Penelitian menggunakan metode RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komponen kritis dan menentukan tindakan perawatan yang tepat dengan biaya perawatan yang optimal. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dan perhitungan dapat diketahui komponen kritis mesin gyratory crusher pada komponen top seal, bottom seal dan van belt. Pada komponen top seal interval waktu perawatan pencegahan 50 hari (berupa penggantian komponen) dengan nilai C(tp) 388853,21872, bottom seal interval waktu perawatan pencegahan 74 hari (berupa penggantian komponen) dengan nilai C(tp) 26169,57 dan van belt interval waktu perawatan pencegahan 28 hari (berupa pemeriksaan dan penggantian komponen) dengan nilai C(tp) 89288,23003. Dalam hal ini interval waktu perawatan untuk seluruh komponen kritis dapat dijadikan dasar kebijakan perawatan yang optimal.
