School counsellors play a role in implementing guidance and counseling services to mainstream students and Special Needs Students. Research from the previous study found that the lack of research that looks at the aspect of the implementation of guidance and counseling services, especially to the Special Needs Students. Therefore, the basic qualitative study was conducted to explore the aspect through semi-structured interviews on six school counsellors. Findings from this study that analysed using ATLAS. ti shows that school counsellors generally carry out responsibilities by providing guidance and counseling services to all students, including Special Needs Students. Furthermore, the findings show that the activities carried out by the school counsellors are based on the needs of the mainstream students rather than on the needs of Special Needs Students. Findings also found that school counsellors did not devise specific programs according to the needs of Special Needs Students. The implications of this study are also discussed in the context of the improvement of service delivery.Abstrak: Guru bimbingan dan kaunseling sekolah (GBKS) berperanan untuk melaksanakan perkhidmatan bimbingan dan kaunseling kepada pelajar aliran perdana dan Murid Berkeperluan Khas (MBK). Abstract. Traffic route choice using road network modelling can play a key role in preventing and minimizing traffic problems during disasters. Using road network modelling, real road conditions during flooding are simulated in order to produce a response plan for road users to evacuate based on the roads' real risks and situation. Using a Geographical Information System (GIS) we can forecast and provide road users with available alternatives when certain access roads or links need to be closed due to catastrophic hazards such as floods. This study focuses on floods as it is the most common form of natural disaster occurring in Malaysia, and due to the fact that the chance and risk of a flood occurring cannot be accurately predicted nor measured. Therefore, as a response to this problem, the outcome of this study is highly useful for the retrieval of information on flooded roads and the impacts on road users. Using GIS's capability to display both spatial and attributive information, we have provided an attractive alternative to conventional methods in order to show available traffic route choices and a transportation network plan.
Abstract. The participation of students in the process of learning is one of the keys to ensure effective learning outcomes either in terms of knowledge or skill. However, teacher-centred teaching methods which have been practiced in this country after so long avert students to fully engage in the learning process especially in a classroom. Various attempts have been made by the government to emphasize student's development in term of communication, creativity and innovation through the of process learning in class. It requires school to implement student-centred teaching methods such as cooperative learning. Cooperative learning is a teaching method that requires teachers not only interacts with the students but also with other teaching aids such as audio, video and computer. Therefore, this study was conducted to identify teachers' perception on the implementation of cooperative learning in the teaching and learning process in class. 25 teachers were selected as respondents. Mixed methods were used in this study, where the instrument of questionnaires and interviews were used to collect the data. Quantitative data analysis was made using descriptive statistics of frequency, mean and percentage. While, qualitative data analysis was based on the recommendations of the Miles & Huberman (1994). The findings showed teachers have a positive attitude toward cooperative learning and they are ready and feel confident to practice it. However, the constraints are classroom control, time and limited teaching aids
