This article describes a new method for identifying the impact of distance learning during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the teaching and learning environment and for developing teachers’ technical skills and attitudes toward distance learning. It is based on a relevant questionnaire filled in by 453 teachers in the Jordanian capital of Amman during the second semester of 2019/2020. Using the two parts of the questionnaire, one of 22 items on the effectiveness of distance learning and one of 15 items on the teachers’ attitudes toward distance learning, the authors have found that distance learning was moderately effective and that the teachers’ attitudes toward distance learning were positive. More particularly, statistically significant differences at a level of α ≤ 0.05 existed between the teachers’ mean scores on the distance learning scale in favor of humanities (t = 13.19). From our findings, we propose establishing a comprehensive assessment system for the distance learning program to monitor its implementation in computer labs; assisting teachers in using the program; implementing tutorials and training lessons for teachers to share their experiences; and providing tablets, computers, or smartphones to students from vulnerable social groups.
This study aims to show the impacts of the Russian-Ukrainian war in terms of restoring Russia’s international status as well as explore the future of the world order after the war in a bid to answer the questions and meet the objectives of the study. To this end, the inductive method and the systems analysis methods are adopted. It is found that the Russian-Ukrainian war will probably have repercussions to the world order, but how and when the current world order will collapse is related to the outcomes and the main parties’ roles in the war. It also seems that this war is not the first and will not be the last factor in changing the world order, as there have been many others and more are expected in the aftermath of the war. Nevertheless, considering the current circumstances, the US is unlikely to completely leave the political landscape.
This research aims to find out how social media aided university students become more health conscious during the COVID-19 pandemic and the gratifications obtained from them. The researchers prepared a questionnaire that corresponds to the study's axis using a descriptive analytical approach. Its reliability, validity, and suitability for measuring the goals of this research were all verified. Students from Jordanian universities made up the study population, where the study sample was made up of 600 randomly selected individuals. The usage of social media helped increase students' awareness of their health during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the level of statistical significance (α = 0.05), differences in gender in favor of females, university type in favor of public universities, and level in favor of higher years were evident. The study made several key recommendations, some of which include working to develop mechanisms that restrict the spread of misleading information on each social media applications and platforms, the necessity of continuing to disseminate health awareness information in all of its forms, and the need to define the current situation and the most significant hazards of the coronavirus in the current period.
